Our Jockey thermal packaging is here, and I can’t help posting this like the proud mama I am. Bold, clean and in Jockey’s standout women’s blue color, I don’t see how anyone can pass by these packaged thermals without wanting more.

New York is super quiet and super sleepy this week. The gym is empty, Starbucks is quiet, and even the overpacked and sardine-ifying (is that a word?) 6 train is peaceful and, dare I say, serene? It’s one of those post-July 4th summer weeks when a majority of your work emails bounce back with “out of office” messages and your Facebook feeds show perfectly cropped and sunshine filled vacay pics. I love a quiet (and sleepy) anything so I am loving this sleepy NYC week. And while I would also love a long vacation and accompanying long massage, I am celebrating my quiet city today with a Diet Peach Snapple in my hand and WNYC livestreaming on my computer. All is good.
Coachella as an event/cultural fashion happening has become one of the most important places to view beautiful young things in their natural environment. When I lived in LA, we ended up booking a vacation in Palm Springs during Coachella. It was several years back at a time when Coachella was only just becoming a “thing.” I was literally amazed at the lithe, beautiful young desert dwellers attending the concert. They were wearing amazing hippie-chic clothes, flowered crowns, tanned bellies and legs all out and about. These looks are now immediately associated with Coachella, and retailer windows are stocked with Coachella-ready cut off jean shorts and belly-baring tee’s. For those of us nearing 40, the truth is that we can’t seriously consider these looks. So, its…
Part of selling sleepwear also involves being a connoisseur of pajamas and the entire look we put together when we lounge and sleep. Our team is forever talking about the styles we are loving, if they were comfortable all night, if the buttons bugged us in our sleep, and if the waistbands were too tight or just right. We all take our nighttime ensembles (i.e. Dream Lounge pjs) pretty seriously and are critiquing and test-driving our pajamas all the time. A key element of the nighttime “look” is hair. The perfect bedhead is an important part of completing the relaxed, comfy, cozy pajama aesthetic. Because my hair is pretty far from perfect, when I find a product I love, I tend to stick with it…
It was a classic “only in New York” moment. I boarded the M4 bus at 34th and Madison with the intention of quietly (if not quickly) making my way uptown after work. An older woman in a street-length fur coat and hat was waiting at the stop with her dog in a stroller. While I love animals, I have a hard time with dogs in strollers. Something about this just isn’t right. Dogs are meant to run free, or at least walk with a lease through the streets of Manhattan. To top it off, said dog was wearing pajamas. Full-on pink dog pajamas. What was interesting about fur coat clad woman and pajama dog was not just the whole stroller dynamic but the fact…
Its officially here- Wednesday of market week. We have had a ball so far this week, showing Jockey thermals to our stores and rallying everyone around the cool technology and details that we have designed into the line. Our lovely fit models make it all look so perfect!
Chalk this up to the fact that sportswear trends generally hit the sleepwear market 1-2 years after they completely take over the fashion world. Sleep leggings are having a moment. I personally love the idea, but this is mainly because I am a lounge girl and wear my pjs to hang out in while I generally sleep in something much more like a tank top. Sleep leggings look cute with the drape-y, plush and cozy tops that also seem to be also taking over the sleepwear market. I was recently obsessed with the look and feel of the plush top (right) at my gym. So lounge-y. So sleepy. So perfect with sleep leggings. I predict everyone will be seeing lots of these in 2015.
What is this modern jogger that is on everyone’s must-have list for fall? Well here is some background: For a long time I have bemoaned the death of the Juicy Couture velour track suit. It’s not so much that I loved it, just more that it filled the void in your closet for comfortable weekend wear. And while some people despised the combo, some people put on Uggs and really looked (or at least thought they looked) like the hottest thing going in 2006. And since this time, little to nothing has filled that velour tracksuit void. Until now. This season it is about the jogger and the snazzy sneaker. And it’s truly a lounge-y jogger, like this awesome one from Macy’s Alfani pictured…
Today the Dream Lounge is proud to announce the hire of our new team member, Tom Lennon. Tom was part of our team back at Russell Newman, and we loved his energy and spirit then. We love it even more now. Tom has jumped right into the dreamy vibe at Dream Lounge. Now– if we could just figure out how to put together his desk!
I used to be the ultimate celebrity spotter. I have what I call radar, and yes, it is a 6th sense about the impending presence of a celebrity that has won over many skeptics. I can spot a celebrity from at least a block off. It’s a skill. Recently I have questioned whether my radar was losing its power. I haven’t spotted a celebrity in many moons. (I chalk this up to the fact that I live on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and honestly, most celebrities, aside from the truly patrician or aged, live downtown or even in Brooklyn these days.) However, just now, on my street, I spotted an Olsen. I believe her to be Ashley. She probably just came from…
